Influence of Winding Method and Rotor Pole Number on Stator Module Type Vernier Motor

In the purpose of environmental conservation and energy saving, demands for high torque density drive motors at low speed are increasing, vernier utilizing magnetic gear effect attracting many attentions. this paper, optimal winding methods a stator module type motor is clarified by using finite element analysis several models with different schemes in same structure. The results show that when two U-shaped cut cores next to each other wound concentrated slots, 5th harmonic component increases due splitting fundamental flux into two-flux paths. This effective rotate flux. Furthermore, new applied stator-module, which has proposed its characteristics presented.
